ILLANA USES THE FOLLOWING GEAR AT GIGS The Midnight Wine Colored Fender Fat Strat (HSS) and Natural Woodgrain finished Telecaster , are Illana's two axes of choice. With the Zoom 707II effects pedal, a wide variety of guitar effects are attained on the Strat. The Telecaster is a custom built guitar, handcrafted from Fender materials to the exact specification of the 1964 Fender Telecaster. The text on the head reads "Illana May Signature Edition", the signature "IM" in gold foil on the body - truly a unique guitar with a beautiful rich warm sound. For smaller shows , a pair of Yamaha MS400 active speakers handling the audio output.

The "Black Box" (Gemini MRC 8 mixer carpeted Rack case), light controls and laptop, all at the sound desk, utpto 25m from the stage, for high quality sound mixing. This GEMINI Box contains the Behringer 1832FX mixing desk, the Behringer MIC100 pre-amp (auxilliary unit for vocal and guitar pre-amping) mounted, on left) the Digitech S100 effects unit ( the blue colored unit, mounted above the mixer, behind the blue neon light tube, used as auxlliary unit, for vocal and guitar reverb). Mounted on the right is a Behringer Shark DSP100 unit used for vocal compression and feedback elimination. In the top section of the box (not shown) are mounted the receivers for the Shure SM58 Single Channel mic and the Shure PGX24 SM58 UHF (Multi Channel) Mic, as well as the power supplies for all the equipment in the box, 6 power supplies in total. The box closes up completely for transportation ( the mixer slides into the box on it's rails), and the only cables that are required to be plugged in at a gig are a guitar cable, two line outs to the speakers, and the monitor feed. All other cabling is permanently installed, and all power is fed to the box on a single 220v 3 Pin plug. The whole sound desk system is run off 700w UPS system to ensure that constant voltage is available at all times.
